CB Childcare began life in May 2003 when Caroline first registered as a childminder with Ofsted. Based in Carshalton, where Caroline lives with her husband, Andy, two sons, William and Oliver, and dog, Ruby.
Caroline has since gained childcare qualification at NVQ Level 3, specialising in children's care, learning and development, as well as CACHE qualification for Childrens Mental Health. In September 2020, Katie joined the team as a childcare assistant and has now passed her OFSTED assessment to become a childminder within CB Childcare, caring for the children and bringing in fresh ideas for their development.
Along with Caroline and Katie, there is a small team of Childcare Assistants, meaning there will always be a team of three caring for the children. This allows up to nine early years children, furthering their social skills and developing friendships. Working in a team also creates free time for everyone to attend training courses and broaden their skillset and implement more learning and development ideas for the children.
CB Childcare operates from Caroline's home, which means they offer a home from home setting for the children, creating an environment that is both fun and nurturing. Regular activities include visiting the park, messy play, story & visits to the library, making cakes, craft, play groups, leisure centres for soft play and dressing up.
There is a comprehensive range of toys and equipment to suit all needs, ages and stages of development. This includes construction toys, Lego, puzzles, craft materials, art, drawing, cars, character toys, games, dressing up and educational work books for the older child. The older children are also able to spend some quiet time to complete any homework they may have. There is also a secure back garden which, weather permitting, allows the children to venture outside and use the toys and equipment available to them.
There is plenty of off street parking available outside the house. Westcroft Leisure centre and the Grove are 5 minutes away and a 10 minute walk from Beddington Park.
Carshalton train station and Carshalton College are 10 minutes from here, with Wallington station about 20 minutes walk away. There are also a number of bus routes locally from Carshalton High Street.
They offer daily drop offs and collections from All Saints Primary School and Nursery, Carshalton.
Using a secure online administration application called Baby's Days, parents are provided with daily updates, including what they have eaten, how they have slept, their activities during the day and any nappy changes. CB Childcare follows the EYFS and works with parents to complete learning journeys and 2 year progress reports for children.
As well as public liability insurance, all staff have current Paediatric First Aid and Food Hygiene certifications. Other certified training that they have includes child safeguarding, autism and anaphylaxis.
There is extensive experience of looking after children of all ages, including twins, from newborns up to age 11. In the past the team have cared for children with Autism, ADHD and Cerabral Palsy, as well as offering alternative menus for children with allergies and food intolerances.
Having a team of three also means the children are able to go out on trips, both during term time and school holidays. The outings are both educational and fun for the children, giving them new experiences and happy memories. Past trips have included Marwell Zoo, Hounslow Urban Farm, WWT London Wetlands, local parks and theatres.
